Charming LEGO experience with humour and variety, but limited DS technology
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean on the Nintendo DS captures the charm of both the LEGO games and the film series quite well in my opinion. Although the game is somewhat limited by the technical capabilities of the DS, it remains an engaging experience. The levels follow the events of the four films in a humorous way that is typical of the LEGO series. The funny references to the films bring a smile to your face, especially if you’re familiar with the adventures of Jack Sparrow and his crew.

The puzzles and platforming elements provide varied gameplay and keep things interesting. I think the controls generally work fine, although they can feel a bit imprecise at times, especially during fights or when switching characters. This can be a bit frustrating, but it does little to detract from the overall enjoyment the game offers. Graphically, the game is decent for the DS, even if it lacks the visual flair of the console versions. Still, it’s nice to see how the developers have translated the iconic characters and locations to the DS.

Nevertheless, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean remains a fun and accessible experience, especially for younger gamers or fans of the films who want to dive into the world of LEGO and pirates on the go. It’s an ideal game to quickly pick up and play a few levels, perfect for on the move. The humour and charm definitely make it worth a try, even if you’re already familiar with the console versions.

Super fun combination of LEGO humour and Pirates films!
It's a gem and one of my favourite LEGO games!

If you're looking for a fun, light-hearted game for the DS, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean comes highly recommended! It combines the humour of LEGO with the Pirates films and as a fan, that's a fantastic combo. All the iconic characters like Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann are there, and the game offers a nice mix of combat, puzzles, and platform action. The typical LEGO humour makes the story really enjoyable to follow. You’ll recognise all the scenes from the films (it’s based on the first four films!), just unfortunately no voice acting.

It's simple enough to jump into quickly, yet still provides enough variety and fun to keep it interesting. If you're a fan of LEGO and the films, you're definitely going to enjoy this!

Mr M's Adventures

Imagine me, Mr. M, along with my best friends Yoshi and Luma, on a pirate ship! We would explore the seven seas, search for treasures, and take on the wicked Captain Davy Jones. Yoshi would use his long tongue to grab objects, and Luma would use magical powers to solve puzzles. And me? I would, of course, be the Fantastic leader who encourages and assists everyone in every adventure! Wowie! What fun we would have!
