Product Description

Fantastic to have you here! Today, I'll tell you all about "The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night" for the Nintendo DS, a game you definitely don't want to miss out on! In this second installment of the "The Legend of Spyro" trilogy, developed by Krome Studios and published by Sierra Entertainment, you embark on another thrilling adventure with our purple dragon Spyro. This time, Spyro must save the world from an emerging darkness by restoring the powers of the Elemental Dragons. With his new abilities like "Dragon Time" (manipulating time, how cool is that!) and his powerful elemental attacks, this game is both challenging and Fantastically fun!

Historical Context

"The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night" was released in 2007, building on the success of the first game in the trilogy, "The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning." This series served as a reboot of the original Spyro games from the '90s, introducing a deeper storyline and more advanced gameplay mechanics. The game was well-received and continues to be praised for its engaging story and challenging gameplay.

Expert Reviews

IGN wrote: "The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night offers a more mature and engaging story than its predecessors, with challenging gameplay mechanics that will keep players hooked." GameSpot added: "Spyro’s new abilities, especially the Dragon Time, add a fresh twist to the classic platforming and combat elements."

Is It for You?

This game is Fantastic for anyone who loves adventurous platform games with a strong narrative. Fans of the original Spyro games will enjoy the new twists and challenges, while newcomers can easily dive into the story. Especially younger players and families will have a blast in the colorful world and engaging gameplay. But remember, even collectors of classic Nintendo DS games will surely appreciate this game!

If you enjoy "The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night," I also recommend trying "Spyro: Shadow Legacy" for the Nintendo DS. This game also offers an engaging adventure with our favorite purple dragon. Another Fantastic suggestion is "Crash Bandicoot: N-Tranced," an action-packed platform game full of fun that you won't want to miss. And the best part? A disappointing sequel
This is the follow-up to Spyro: a New Beginning and the 2nd game in the Legend of Spyro series. Unfortunately, The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is not really good, especially not on the DS.

This time they tried to incorporate more platform elements into the game, which was a good idea, but that's where the positives end. Enemies that you don't have to defeat simply respawn immediately after you defeat them. The puzzles are practically the same as in the previous game. The 4 dragons you defeat in boss battles are essentially the same fight repeated 4 times. Once you know their attack pattern, they are very easy to defeat.

The story is even simpler than the previous game. In short: Cynder runs away and you go after her. Like the previous game: a short one that took me just under 4 hours.
Perhaps the Spyro the Eternal Night Wii version is slightly better, but this version is not really recommended.
